Monica began as Playboy's Cyber Girl of the Week for August 29, 2005, then Cyber Girl of the Month for December 2005. She became a Playboy Playmate in March 2006 and was announced as the 2006 Cyber Girl of the Year later that month.

One inspiration for her becoming a Playmate was from her childhood friend, Courtney Rachel Culkin, Miss April 2005. The two have been friends since the age of 12.
